It was delicious and unique. Iβve never eaten Uni like this. Wasabi is used in most courses, be warned. A true STL gem, uniquely intimate with only 6 seats at the sushi bar. Itβs just you, Chef Nobu and his wife, son, and a server Emma. Service was impeccable. Wine pairing was a plus. Reserve ahead!
Exceptional experience! Every course was incredible and noteworthy, and each bite was made with care. I will be dreaming about the sardines, unagi, and red snapper bone broth until we get a chance to go back. I also loved the omakase experience and getting to talk with the chefs as they worked. A great place to celebrate a special birthday!
This was the most unique dining experience I have had. The setting felt very exclusive. The food was all very good, and even fish I had tried before and disliked at other places was very good. The food was fresh, and we left feeling satisfied but not stuffed.
One of the best places I've ever eaten and worth every penny. We went for the 3 course option for our anniversary. They wished us a happy anniversary and even brought us both a complimentary glass of prosecco! The food was extremely high quality and prepared perfectly. The service was flawless. Just perfect for our special occasion.
Dined in at the sushi bar for the six course omakase dinner. All of the food was meticulously prepared and the fish was incredibly fresh and high quality. Everyone there was friendly and attentive and were excited to share stories about the dishes, their family, and Japan. Some big highlights from the dinner were the grilled black cod (a real showstopper), the eel (a personal favorite), and the various fish in the mustard sauce. Everything paired well with their interesting selection of sakes and Japanese wine. My only minor complaint is some dishes were a little heavy on the wasabi, which was often nicely grated fresh right before serving. The six-course feast is an expensive meal but it is certainly a worthwhile and unique experience and so far the best sushi I have had in St Louis.
This was one of the most amazing, intimate, and well orchestrated dining experiences I have ever had. Chef Nobu and his family welcome you as if you are old friends dining in their home. Every little detail is executed with great care and precision to provide the best sushi experience you can get anywhere close to St. Louis. We are grateful for this opportunity to enjoy a true master chef in his own element and cannot wait to return. You can tell that providing this experience is what makes Chef Nobu happy! Thank you!!
Nobu's transformation from a sushi restaurant to an omakase-style dining experience is quite remarkable. The interior design is stunning with its coastal charm blended seamlessly with a traditional Japanese aesthetic. The tasting menu is exceptional, showcasing the finest quality fish and precise cuts that left me satisfyingly fullβa rarity in my omakase experiences. However, a word of caution about the steep alcohol prices; even a standard Sapporo comes with a hefty tag. An incident worth mentioning involved a wine recommendationβa Chardonnay priced at $25 per glass on the menu that turned out to be $50 when the bill arrived, due to an outdated menu. This oversight led to an uncomfortable end to an otherwise delightful meal. Nonetheless, for those in St. Louis seeking sushi that surpasses the ordinary, Nobu's is a destination that promises to deliver.
